![]() ![]() In the videos of Tween Machine you would have seen, you probably saw animators working on what is known as blocking (in Motion - constant mode). ![]() In character animation I am often dealing with 200+ controls with 9+ channels each, so that's why Tween Machine became a necessity there. That's why a tool like Tween Machine is so useful to me, I can change 9 or more animation channels at once with a simple slider instead of changing each channel individually. Motion hasn't got a hindsight auto-tangent detection built into it so often, I have to change a lot of the tangents it creates by hand. For that, a tool like tween machine is great.įor every controller or object, there can be 3 translation channels, 3 rotation channels, opacity and 3 scale channels before I get to individual effects. I want to be able to animate things by hand with precision more easily. I don't want to set behaviours or create machine generated ease ins/outs etc. ![]() Technical concepts and workflows like gimbal lock, rotation order, euler filter, constraints, breakdowns, avoiding counter-animation, and Tween Machine are covered so students will understand how to create clear actions while being expressive and creative with their character.īy using AnimSchool's simple segmented "block" characters, students focus on the specific positioning and angles of body parts to properly communicate a biped's pose, without getting lost in the ambiguity of fleshy characters. That's not really what I mean. In the assignments, the students are given more freedom to explore secondary actions. Students learn how to maintain balance, understanding where the character's center of gravity is located, sculpting poses for strong silhouettes, shape reversals, how and why a character anticipates a move, motivated action, secondary action and reaction, caricatured motion, how to avoid twinning, appeal in asymmetry, and staging. Students are now ready to tackle full biped character animation in three animation assignments. This course teaches the principles of animation applied to character motion and locomotion. ![]()
